Our project on Berners Street in central London involves the adaptive reuse of a commercial building dating from the mid-20th century to create 900m2 of commercial space and three residential units.
The commercial space will face onto Berners St, where we are creating a new facade in dark grey stone and anodised aluminium. The design of this facade relates to the other mid-20th century buildings along the street and provides a dignified face and entrance to the new commercial space.
The residential units are located at the rear of the block, facing onto Berners Mews where we are creating a simpler facade in dark stucco with long windows and inset loggia balconies. Between the residential units and office spaces a planted roof terrace brings light into the centre of the building.
